Character Crucible emerged from the depths of countless D&D campaigns, born from the frustration of spending precious session time on character creation instead of epic adventures. We're not just another tech company, we're passionate dungeon masters, forever players, and believers that every character deserves their moment to shine without the tedious paperwork.
While other platforms put barriers between players and their creativity, we're building bridges. Our goal is simple: transform the character creation process from a chore into an adventure itself. We believe every player should spend less time calculating stats and more time crafting stories that'll be remembered long after the dice have stopped rolling.
Co-Founder & Chief Code Wizard
Connect on LinkedInA software development graduate from Trinity College Dublin, Caolan has always had a passion for creating user-facing products, especially ones that don't make you want to flip the table in frustration. As Head of Technology at numerous startups both in Ireland and overseas, he's mastered the art of turning “wouldn't it be cool if...” ideas into actual working software. Now he channels that experience into building tools that actually enhance the D&D experience instead of hindering it. When he's not coding, you'll find him optimizing his latest character build or explaining why his homebrew rules are “totally balanced.”
Co-Founder & Dungeon Master Extraordinaire
Former kayaking champion of Ireland, Cade has traded navigating treacherous rapids for navigating even more treacherous player decisions (seriously, why do they always split the party?). After studying alongside fellow Co-Founder Caolan, the two have been building tech products together since their youth. With 5+ years of experience at Microsoft, Cade learned how industry giants tackle complex problems, then decided to apply those skills to the equally complex challenge of keeping D&D players happy. He currently runs the live D&D show “Heroes Without a Plan” in Vancouver through The Fool's Guild, where he gets to practice his craft weekly while entertaining audiences who appreciate good storytelling and questionable player choices.
